Located on the Castagnola hill in Pallanza, one of the inhabited centers that make up the municipality of Verbania, Villa San Remigio enjoys a wonderful view of Lake Maggiore. Surrounded by a large park, among flowers and ancient statues, the villa is bordered to the south by the small Romanesque church of San Remigio (12th century) which gives the Villa its name.

Once through the gates of this splendid residence, one enters the discovery of a world of suggestion and emotions. Built in the early 1900s, this villa represents the fruit of the passion of two lovers who wanted to create "the garden of dreams" here: the Marquis Silvio della Valle di Casanova, Neapolitan poet and musician, and Sofia Browne, Irish painter. The couple, inspired by the great Italian Renaissance and Baroque villas, wanted to create a place where artistic forms and the beauty of nature could coexist in full harmony.

CAR

From the A26 motorway, take the Verbania-Gravellona Toce exit, and continue in the direction of Verbania for 12 km. Continue straight on the SS34 way, pass the police headquarters building on the left and turn right into Via Michelangelo Buonarroti, then Via al Collegio, Via Agostino Viani and finally, Via S. Remigio.

TRAIN

Verbania is connected with the Italian railway line from Milan http://www.trenitalia.com/ and it’s 1,2 hours away from Milano Centrale Station.

The closest railway station is Verbania-Pallanza, that is located about 10 km far from the city center of Verbania. PLANE
